Thornapple Kellogg Schools were well represented with 11 teams at the regional Odyssey of the Mind competition in Wayland last weekend. The district will again be well represented by six teams advancing to the state finals March 14 hosted at TK Schools.

Did you know there are more than 50 flavors of Faygo pop with cotton candy being one of the favorites? Or that Vernor’s Ginger Ale is the oldest soft drink in the country and it started right here in Michigan? Did you know Little Caesar’s Pizza – now a national chain – started in Michigan? Just ask Lee Elementary third graders and they can tell you all kind of fun facts about some of the most famous Michigan-made food products after they took a taste-testing tour of Michigan’s history.

Every student at Lee Elementary School this year will receive a new book they can call all their own thanks to the anonymous efforts of the Lee Book Angel. That's more than 450 books to be donated this year!

TK bragging rights are one the line in the annual Battle of the Buildings Nov. 13. Members from each building within the district will compete in fun (and sometimes goofy) basketball competitions.
